Dress Rehearsal
- The mandatory dress rehearsal dates are available in the Recital Newsletter emailed to all families by May. Usually the dress rehearsals are held the week before the recital.
- All students must attend the dress rehearsal in order to perform in the recital.
- After a student has rehearsed all dances in which they will perform on their recital day, they are dismissed.
- A Professional photographer is hired to take portraits of your dancer. Make sure to take any dance portraits you wish to have on rehearsal day. Our photographer will not be available on recital day.
Etiquette on Rehearsal and Recital Day
- Be on time!
- Do not scream, run, or explore areas outside the dressing rooms. Be careful walking from the dressing rooms to stage. Hallway floors are not meant for dance shoes and can be especially slick. Be especially careful if wearing tap shoes.
- Be aware of noise and how it will carry to stage. Stages are set up to project noise so even whispers can be easily heard.
- Pay attention to when your class performs. Classes will be called to line up when there are three classes ahead of them. Please note some dances such as solos will be skipped so make sure to listen for the announcement for your class to line up.
- Come to rehearsal and the recital well fed. Do not bring messy food or snacks. Only water is allowed in the dressing rooms.
- Rehearsal and the recital can be long. Bring something to do that is quiet. Do not bring expensive electronics as they can be easily misplaced or broken. CPAC is not responsible for lost or broken items.
- Suggestions:
- Coloring books, sketchpads, notebooks
- Madlibs
- Card games or board games without small pieces which can easily be lost or stepped upon
