Why are proper dance shoes important?
Safety is the number one reason specific shoes are required. Non-ballet “slippers” and the like can lead to your child falling and injuring themselves or others. Mary Jane tap shoes are not supportive enough for more advanced tappers. Having proper support is imperative for dancers to be able to learn proper technique while their growing feet are supported.
